Proposition 6, "Safe" Neighborhoods Act

Endorsed Vote: No

Do you want more prisons, more authority in the hands of the government and police officers? Then vote NO on Proposition 6. This law wants to target youth by trying them as adults if convicted. It wants to increase penalties for certain offenses and requires strict enforcement of this increased power to the police and criminal justice departments. In a time where our economy is in a recession and the prison industrial complex has already diverted too much of our taxpayers money the last thing we need to do is increase federal funding towards the prosecution of non-violent drug offenders. This law, in particular, aims to target immigrants as well by not allowing them to post-bail. It is a draconian law that should be heavily considered for the ramifications will have an effect on us all. Check it out... it is a law that is endorsed by Los Angeles Sheriffs, California Police, and other similar agencies. These institutions have criminalized many innocent people for too long... vote no on PROP 6.
